How it works

Three steps to a clear answer

  1. Type the serial

Type the serial number printed on the pack. Or photograph the pack: DETECK reads its code and AI compares the packaging.

  2. We check the records

DETECK looks the serial up in the records its manufacturer shared.

  3. Deteck tells you the result

Valid or Unrecognised, in plain words. If the records aren't enough to be sure, Deteck says so.

Our vision

Anyone in Nigeria should be able to check their medicine.

DETECK connects each pack's serial number to its manufacturer's records, so you can check it yourself instead of relying only on how the packaging looks.

Questions

Questions people ask

Does it cost anything?

Checking a medicine is free and needs no account. Your network's normal data charges apply, and a serial check uses very little data.

What does "Valid" mean?

It means the serial matches the records its manufacturer shared with DETECK. DETECK can't test what is inside a pack, so if anything about it worries you, ask a pharmacist.

What if my medicine isn't on DETECK?

Not every manufacturer shares its records yet. DETECK says so plainly, and it doesn't mean the medicine is fake. Your pharmacist can help.

What happens to my details?

A check needs no name or phone number. DETECK keeps only what it needs to answer checks and stop abuse; the privacy notice says what, and for how long.
